Peter Burg and Blue Suburban
Blues people tend to express their blues more
fervently than
less bluish people. It is, for them, the celebration
of surviving tragic and difficult times. It often takes the form of music,
art, fast cars, urban graffiti etc
All people drive around with some form of blues
affecting their psyche.
Blue Suburban began in April, 1999. After many
years of performing cover material in various bands and the unsatisfying
results of not doing original songs, the nucleus of Blue Suburban took
root.
Peter Burg, Sam Giannetto, Wayne Ingleton,
and Rich Gallegos all with diverse backgrounds in the music field, came
together with a common bond, the blues
a Colorado blues, a blues that encompasses
elements of traditional blues forms, rock-a-billy, country swing, and rockn
roll with the occasional surf influence.
This is the vehicle through which frustration
with relationships, employment, income and living in a complex society
is successfully vented, a channel for creative artistry and energy. With
the collective experience of these four
individuals a new sound of regional blues has
emerged.
At present, blues is the main influence on
the material musically and lyrically.
An important ingredient to the songs is the
emphasis on dance rhythms. Aside from being taken seriously, Blue Suburban
wants its audience to be moved to
get up, dance and experience a relationship
with the blues.
Punchy pop blues songs with lyrics on the impressionistic
edge. Exorcising
internal demons, reconstructing and working
out life song by song. Running
on passion with no credit card. Pay as you
go philosophy.
The combo-Peter Burg-vocal/guitar/composer,
Sam Giannetto-bass, Wayne Ingleton-percussion and Rich Galleogs on Sax.
(all dues have been paid)
Originally from the coast of California, Peter
Burg lives in the mountains of Colorado. Influenced by the beach sound
and pop megalopolis culture of LA, he has been bending and twisting country
and blues of southern Colorado into the "Blue Suburban". (purloined from
"Penny Lane") He has grown up in the blues of suburbia, with all the trappings,
baggage, and luxuries of suburban dysfunctional family units. ("my kingdom
for a horse"!)
Sam Giannetto, Pueblo Colorado, Fire Cheif
alway ready for the flame, holds down the bottom on bass. Wayne Ingleton,
also from New York, an intuitive and sensitve drummer with a quite demeanor.
He brings it together, intense and determined.
Rich Gallegos, Colorado and Austin Texas have
been his stomping grounds. Sax, the choice of weapon. One listen and you
can tell he has studied the greats.
So East meets West, the union of souls, the
bargain, the future, Peter Burg and Blue Suburban.

Peter Burg
Passion is consuming. It over ride all else.
It guides me without worry. A gift
from God that I question not.
Impressionistic is one aspect to describe my
writing. Imagination is what I expect from a listener. Imagination is what
is of value in theater. Performance is theater. I just lead the audience
in a direction and leave it up to them.
I am a theme, a thin thread delicately balanced
on a stage with sound and consciousness. I deliver an impression and or
a topic and the audience simply digests it. They conclude what ever it
is that there past experience allows them
to conclude, that is all you can ask for.
It is simple. I am a product of every song
I ever heard. That is what has shaped
my taste. That and my ability on an instrument,
is the major percentage of what goes into writing my songs. That, life,
passion and imagination.
It's not about me. It's about the audience.
It's like abstract art. What knowledge does the audience bring to the show?
If I could just survive on the thrill of being
a part of an art form that dates back
to beginning of humanity I would, but that
is impossible, I'm not crazy. So, come be the audience and share the wealth!
